Stroke Recovery 3 Years
Later
How Cardio Cocktail Impacted My Life in Less
Than 3 Months
Herbert L. Brussow,
Ph.D.
(c)
2008
My
name is Herb Brussow. I am 72 years old and a stroke survivor of
three years—July 29, 2005. I had a life changing experience when I
became a stroke survivor while on a trip 300 miles from home. For
just short of two days I was experiencing my right
side slowly changing. I had to make a concerted effort to lift my
right leg and was very conscious that I had to pay very close
attention to my right leg when walking. I dropped a tray while in a
cafeteria taking my meal to my table. My speech was getting more
difficult.
I
am very grateful for the manager of a dormitory system at WCIU in
Pasadena, CA who saw me and immediately told me to get into his
office and lay down that he was calling the paramedics. I have
never spent a night in a hospital before my stroke experience
beginning on July 29, 2005. The stroke brought many changes
including reduced mental agility and serious questions as to
whether I could continue serving on doctoral committees.
My
debilitated condition began changing starting approximately three
months ago after almost 3 years since the stroke and in such a way
that I could not have anticipated being so dramatic. Following is
an account of a number of changes I have experienced in fewer three
months.
It
is very exciting how my life has changed for the better
since I
began taking Cardio Cocktail about three
months ago. I have had numerous health challenges due to the
stroke. The improvements I have experienced since beginning to take
Cardio Cocktail have been
very encouraging, healing and near miraculous.
I invite you to accompany me
on a journey by reading the following and learn what Cardio Cocktail has done for
me.
My introduction to L-arginine
happened during my hospital stay in Pasadena. Near the end of my
time in the hospital before going to the rehab department, my
neurosurgeon came to see me and reviewed all the options for
treatment available to me through Medicare.
After she finished she looked
at me and said; “Now this is
what I do for myself”. She then proceeded to tell me about
L-arginine for which three scientists won the Nobel Prize in
Medicine in 1998 for their work with Nitric Oxide and how important
it is to the entire body. As we age our body begins to produce less
and less Nitric Oxide. L-arginine supplementation is what causes
the body to release more Nitric Oxide, which is especially critical
and necessary to maintain a healthy cardiovascular
system.
After returning home I looked
for L-arginine and found a granular form at Costco. I took it for
two months with minimal impact and then it disappeared from the
shelves. I found L-arginine in capsule form at health food stores.
In order to get any kind of an effective dose I had to take so many
pills yet with very little observed difference. I still have some
in a bottle in my medicine closet. Only periodically have I taken
it over the years. To dissolve it in liquid form did take time—half
an hour at least
(I have since learned that to
experience the best results with L-arginine you need to take
it in liquid form and you need to take a therapeutic dose,
which is a minimum of 5 grams.)
One day I overheard a friend
talking about a product he was using and he mentioned L-arginine.
Well my ears perked up and I began to ask questions.
The product was Cardio
Cocktail, a super drink containing liquid L-arginine
developed by Medical Doctors and Scientists. Cardio
Cocktail contains a therapeutic dose of L-arginine along
with other vital nutrients. Still remembering what my neurosurgeon
had told me I was eager to give Cardio Cocktail a
test run. I told my friend I would like to try it but I made it
clear I had no interest in marketing the product. I was busy with
getting our living situation in California completed for our
retirement years and chairing PhD committees and other teaching
opportunities to supplement our Social Security.
Since then, in three short
months, my experience with Cardio Cocktail has been
nothing less than phenomenal and has given me my life
back.
I began taking Cardio
Cocktail on a regular basis near the middle of June 2008.
The first month I noted some changes and improvements but was
cautious to say too much about it.
After some apparent good
results the next month I suggested Cardio Cocktail to
a 75-year-old friend who was experiencing various symptoms and was
beginning to restrict his life style and activities. I was floored
when in less than a week he was returning to his former self with
more energy, pain relief and improved outlook.
At the same time I began to
experience more exciting improvements with my own situation. I
started telling more people and I began to see more results with
others.
My life has so improved and
my outlook for the future is so encouraging, and of course I began
marketing Cardio Cocktail. People, over the years,
have wanted me to get into one product or another in network
marketing. I am quite relational. However, I deal with concepts,
helps, quality of life, self-help rather than sales, as such.
During the past few months of taking Cardio Cocktail
People have both asked me about my improvements and I have
initiated conversations. Friends and seniors in particular are an
audience I have preferred to communicate with. Now, with the
improvements I have made I will tell all who will listen to know
how I have been helped with Cardio Cocktail. I went
back to my therapy office and spoke of it in the lounge. A lady
heard me and sent for some Cardio Cocktail for her
sister who is currently in therapy
Below I will note the
improvements I have experienced with Cardio
Cocktail. Some of the
improvements are with symptoms left over from the stroke and some
are situations that I had before the stroke.
An important thing to know is that I was told by my
therapists and my doctor (MD) not to look for any significant
improvements after nine months to a year following the
stroke. Everything listed below happened almost 3 years after
suffering the stroke.
1. Before my stroke for more than ten
years my hand would shake when writing. Even signing my signature
was a real challenge at times. The problem is totally gone! Was I
ever pleased when I suddenly realized it the first time I noticed I
was signing my signature with a steady hand.
2. My right eye, after the stroke,
was reduced in size and there was a marbling effect in the eye. The
marbling is gone and the whole eye has returned to the size it was
before the stroke.
3. Due to spending many years in the
tropics, often without a hat, I was left with a dry and kind of a
scabby scalp. It would often itch and bleed if I scratched it. Now
the itching is gone, it does not itch as before so does not bleed
from scratching an itch. The skin of my scalp has a more natural
look, a healthy and moist texture.
4.
After the stroke, I had surgery on the
end of my nose due to cancer. A piece of flesh was taken from the
right side of my face very close to my nose three eighths inch long
and a quarter inch by a quarter inch. This left the right side of
my face with a slight droopy, lazy look; with a lower cheek line
outline as well as the line from the corner of my mouth down to the
bottom of my jaw. Now there is no difference and my face has a
balanced look again.
5.
After the stroke when eating or talking
I would drool a little from the right side of my mouth. That has
almost completely corrected itself.
6.
Since the stroke there has been a
strange resonance of my voice inside my head. I felt self-conscious
when speaking especially if addressing a group. That is all gone.
My speech is much stronger and more assured. I told my friend last
week that now I feel confident that I could speak in front of a
group as I had before giving an hour presentation and carry on an
interactive training for hours, as I had done before.
7.
Prior to about six weeks ago words that
I had formed into a sentence in my mind just prior to speaking
would suddenly disappear. This was very disconcerting since I would
frequently be left speechless and did not remember what I was
planning to say. This has improved dramatically and I seldom lose
words as I did before.
8. My whole right side had a
residual feeling of the effects of my stroke. That is totally
gone.
9. Two
years ago I fell on very hard compressed ground at a
construction site. The finger on my right hand next to my
pinky was doubled under and severely hurt. The pain was
consistent for two years. To shake hands I quickly pushed my
hand to the wrist of someone with whom I was shaking hands,
as the pain in a normal handshake was excruciatingly painful.
Now the pain is totally gone. Nothing was done other than
taking Cardio Cocktail.
10. Since the stroke the grip in my
right hand was very weak. After about three months
takingCardio Cocktailmy grip has become
50% stronger. My grip has in practice more than
doubled. My doctor told me emphatically to stop, when checking the
strength in my hand by my squeezing his finger.
11. The stroke significantly impacted
my ability to walk and use my right leg. I have experienced
dramatic improvements in a number of areas with my right
leg.
a.
Since the stroke I lived with what is
called drop foot. I had
to swing my leg from my hip since the
affected muscles would not work with my knee. Now I walk
normally, lifting my foot with my knee as one normally walks. I
have more improvement to make but am confident that I am in a
process of improvement(s). It is
incredible.
b.
My right calf had
no feeling at all. I figured it was withering and would further be
a problem in walking. I felt my leg would just become a peg hanging
and any control was from the hip. Was I ever pleased and surprised
to one day about six weeks ago have a warm feeling in my calf.
Though others on Cardio Cocktail I know have reported
this feeling of warmth, it was my first experience feeling it. I
reached down to see if there was anything external on my calf and I
realized that the feeling was inside my calf and I had sensation
returning to my calf!
c.
Over two years
ago in therapy I was told that my ankle would be the slowest to
heal and eventually I would experience no improvement. Now I can
lift my right foot from the ankle several inches. This had been
impossible for almost 3 years. Also I am beginning to feel pain
again in my ankle and for 3 years I did not feel anything. It seems
that my right ankle is coming back to life slowly and I am
regaining some use of it again.
d.
A couple of years
ago I was walking toward a garage and fell hard against the corner
of the garage. My face went to the left side (front of the garage)
and my right shoulder slammed up against the side. My knees fell
and one slammed against and shattered a two-inch walk stone lying
on the concrete apron of the garage and the other hard against the
concrete apron. Since the fall, when getting out of the bathtub my
knees hurt me severely as I first am on my knees in positioning to
get out of the tub. About six weeks ago I realized I was
positioning on my knees to get out of the tub. This set off a
little warning in my head that pain was coming, I tensed up in
anticipation, however, not an ounce of pain came! Since taking the
Cardio Cocktail for
several months my knees had healed.
12. I injured my back in 1964 and have
periodically suffered with lower back issues since then. Since the
stroke my back pain disappeared totally for nearly three years. In
terms of strength, my overall ability to move very freely, lean
over and do things that required much use of my back muscles was
severely restricted. After taking Cardio Cocktail
my back
began to have some feeling and it wasn’t long before I found myself
naturally leaning over picking up items with my right hand that
were on the ground.
About 6 weeks ago my back seemed to come alive again. I
started feeling pain. In the past, when I had severe back pain, it
would last for three to twelve weeks. The most severe experience
was when I could only sit up to sleep. Being flat on a bed the
pain was excruciating and I would have to roll out of bed to get
up.
I experienced another episode of this severe pain in my
back one day about a month ago. In the past before the stroke, when
I experienced pain this severe I always required a minimum of three
weeks of downtime in order to recover and be able to walk upright
and be relatively free of pain.
This time my friend suggested that I take a second dose (1
ounce) of Cardio Cocktail. I did and then decided
to take one before going to bed totaling three ounces for the day.
From the severity of the pain I was feeling, past experience led me
to believe that I was looking at a minimum of three weeks to get
back to a functional state. To my complete amazement I awoke the
next morning with just a very slight feeling of a residual
irritation but no severe pain. This was my first experience with my
lower back responding in this way and returning to normal so
quickly.
13. My recent visit to my Medical Doctor after not
seeing him for around six months was a very enlightening experience
for him and newfound approval for me. The doctor came in and
immediately I demonstrated for him how I could lift my foot at the
knee instead of my hip. He expressed his astonishment in this and
other changes as he learned about them; changes that I have had
since my last visit to the doctor in March 2008.
All the improvements happened in a six-week to three-month
period. I first showed him how I could walk without lifting my
right leg from my hip. Then he did a strength test on my leg and
hand. He again expressed astonishment and said I increased strength
50% or more in my leg and hand.
Of most interest to him was the change and improvement in
my voice. He made the statement that he has never seen nor heard of
my kind of improvements beyond 9 months to a year of having a
stroke. In fact, improvement is a progressive experience with
therapy and then tapers off after several months and then most
stroke survivors just have to live with what is left with very
minimal improvements.
The doctor revealed to me that he has been using
L-arginine in some nutritional applications but he has not seen the
kind of results expected or that I am enjoying especially after
three years of experiencing a stroke.
My doctor is quite interested in seeing the
make up of Cardio Cocktail. If he keeps being nice to me I might let him
look at it.
Oh and one more thing. Three years ago when my
neurosurgeon told me about L-arginine and the Nobel Prize
winning discovery, she turned to leave my bedside when the
visit was over. Up until this time she had been all business,
very serious. At the door to my hospital room she turned to
face me with a sly grin on her face and said. “Oh yes, it’s
(L-arginine) a natural Viagra, too!
Cardio
Cocktail! What
a life changer! Cardio
Cocktail has been
developed by very serious professionals from various fields
of medicine, science, nutrition, etc. The life changing
impact of Cardio
Cocktail needs to
be extended to all who have a willing heart to improve their
health and quality of life.
